The Charles Stacy French papers contain maps of various mountains, photographs of camp sites and the Adirondacks, an unpublished manuscript pertaining to a Canadian Climbing Trip, mountaineering guide books and sketches of mountain ranges. The collection also contains mountaineering publications such as the Appalachia Mountain Club Bulletin (1928-1933), Appalachia (1934-1966) and Harvard Mountaineering (1936-1963) and a film reel of the Sierra Club Group at Shasta, Lassen (1934).

Charles Stacy French (1907-1995) was an avid skier and mountain climber. He climbed the Matterhorn in 1920.
